This is not Milan

We have not quite gotten to Italy yet due to last night's eruption of the Icelandic volcano and the subsequent ash cloud. We were diverted to Paris (rather than AMS) and now we are waiting for our flight which will take us to Milan. Despite our sleep deprived state and the constant change in plans, our merry little group remains surprisingly merry! We should get into Milan at about 8pm.

Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well with this next leg of the journey!

Do you get the feeling that Momma Nature is trying to send us a message...something like, "I do more to you than your modern technology can do to me."

I was afraid that the nasty volcanic ash cloud might interrupt your trip. It is much better to be in Paris (even sleep deprived) than trying to find your way out of an ash cloud someplace over the Atlantic or Europe. Just my thoughts. MJS

Mary Jo, I could not agree more! Paris, even if it is only Charles de Gaulle airport, is not the worst thing that could happen to a group of travelers.
